The 31st NES Commencement Ceremony took place in Moscow


On July 12, the 31st NES Commencement Ceremony was held in Moscow. NES welcomed 152 graduates, with over two-thirds already employed in finance, IT, e-commerce, and other fields. Seventeen graduates will continue their studies in PhD and predoc programs at leading universities worldwide.

NES Vice-Rector Zarema Kasabieva congratulated the graduates, wishing that the end of their studies at NES would mark the beginning of their career success. NES Rector Anton Suvorov (MAE'1999) thanked the NES community, partners, donors, and friends for their support, and emphasized the key events of the past academic year, including the opening of a world-class PhD program and successful academic job market results. Chairman of the NES Board of Directors Alexey Kudrin underlined the importance of the acquired learning skills necessary to adapt to new fields.

The keynote speaker of the Ceremony Ksenia Yudaeva (MAE'1994), Advisor to the Chairman of the Bank of Russia, gave a brief lecture and explained how understanding decision-making processes in monetary policy can be applied in life. 

Other speakers included NES President Shlomo Weber, NES Professor and Board of Director member Arkady Dvorkovich, member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor Emeritus at NES Victor Polterovich, co-founder of the HSE-NES Joint Bachelor’s Program Oleg Zamulin, Deputy Chairman of the Bank of Russia Alexey Zabotkin (MAE'2005), CEO of the railroad logistics company "Irtysh Capital" Victor Kudinov (MAE'2004), Igor Marich (MOEX), Eric Livny (EBRD), the first PhD-coordinator at NES, and HSE-NES faculty members Ilya Shchurov, Galina Yuzefovich, Kevin Cancellaro.
