Professors from the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) Business School visit NES


On October 7, Professor Waiman Cheung and Professor Mandy Hu from CUHK Business School visited NES. They had lunch with NES professors,  took a brief tour of the campus together with NES Bachelor students, and also met with the NES leadership to discuss further development of relations between the two universities. 

Later, they gave a lecture to NES students on the development and opportunities of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area, a special economic zone of innovation in southern China. After the lecture, the speakers answered students’ questions. 

Prof. Waiman Cheung is the Associate Dean of Graduate Studies, and Director of the Asian Institute of Supply Chain & Logistics at CUHK Business School, where he teaches both graduate and undergraduate courses. Prof. Cheung has worked closely with local industries for knowledge and technology transfer and has conducted studies and consultancy works for Hong Kong government organizations and large corporations. 

His research interests are mainly in applying IT to logistics and supply chain management. Prof. Cheung has contributed articles to many of the leading international journals. 

During campus tour

Prof. Mantian (Mandy) Hu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Marketing at CUHK Business School. She is also the Director of the Centre for Consumer Insights and the Director of MSc in Marketing program. She now serves as an AE for the Journal of Business Research and an independent non-executive director for the listed transportation and logistics company SITC International Holdings Company Limited.

Her research focuses on using quantitative models to study and explain consumer behavior and using big data in industries such as telecommunication, automobile, e-commerce and FinTech. Additionally to publications in the leading international journals, she edited and published two books.
