Professor of New Economic School and Pompeu Fabra University (Spain) Maria Petrova was awarded a prestigious European Research Council Starting Grant. The aim of her work is to find out how personal experience, social and mass media drive the rise of populism and extremism as well as which factors have a prior significance at the time of economic crisis.Theoretical problem will be studied on contemporary and historical examples.
