NES Takes Part in SPIEF’2021


On June 3-4, 2021, NES experts participated in the 24th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

NES Professor, Director of the Centre for Research in Financial Technologies and Digital Economy SKOLKOVO-NES Oleg Shibanov took part in the panel discussion 'From Financial Literacy to Financial Resilience: How has the Pandemic Impacted Consumer Behaviour?', which was held on June 3. The participants talked about the changes in fiscal habits and attitudes during the last year and discussed the opportunities for improving financial literacy, including through accelerated digitalization.

Also, on June 3, the winners of PwC’s Business Book of the Year in Russia Award were announced. The book by NES Vice-Rector Maxim Bouev and Kirill Ilinskiy 'The Supermodel in the Mirror: Stories of Models in Finance' was named among the winners. On June 4, Maxim Bouev spoke at Promsvyazbank business breakfast ‘Investments in High-Tech: Heading for Prospective Development'. He talked about the human capital for innovative companies and defence contractors, and gave some tips how to develop talents for high-tech companies.

On June 4, NES Rector Ruben Enikolopov took part in Sber Business Breakfast and two panel discussions. The first one, 'Open Government 2.0: What is the Right Policy Prescription for Russia?', was devoted to open government concept, adopted in 2013. Among other speakers of the panel there were Chairman of the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation, Chairman of NES Board of Directors Alexey Kudrin, State Secretary–Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Alexey Khersontsev, and political scientist Ekaterina Shulman. The experts have discussed the results of the recent research 'Open Government in Russia – 2021' and determined the areas for further work in terms of increasing transparency.

The other panel, 'The Frontiers of Humanity as Defined by Science and Life', gathered a wide range of experts who discussed whether science has a potential to solve the problems facing humanity, improve greatly the quality of life, ensure sustainable development, and meet the needs of the current generation without adversely affecting the next generation.
