Anna Mikusheva, Professor of Economics at MIT, a New Economic School graduate (MAE'2002), and a member of the NES International Advisory Board, became a member of the American Academy of Arts & Sciences.
The Academy announced its new members on April 25th, 2024. According to its official statement, the 250 individuals elected this year “are being recognized for their excellence and invited to uphold the Academy’s mission of engaging across disciplines and divides.”
Founded in 1780, the American Academy of Arts & Sciences is both an honorary society and an independent research center convening leaders from across disciplines, professions, and perspectives to address significant challenges.
After graduating from NES, Anna Mikusheva received PhD at Harvard University. She has pursued her academic career at MIT, where she has been a faculty member in the Department of Economics since 2007. From 2016 to 2021, she served as the coordinator of the NES International Advisory Board.
Anna Mikusheva’s work focuses on development of robust econometric procedures and inference in weakly identified models. Anna has received several prestigious awards and honors throughout her career. In 2012, she was awarded the Elaine Bennett Research Prize by the American Economic Association. In 2013, she became an Alfred P. Sloan Research Fellow, and in 2018, was recognized as a Fellow of the Econometric Society.
