NES CSDSI senior research fellow Alexander Shapoval took part in The EARIE  Annual Conference 2017 that took place 31 August – 2 September 2017 in Maastricht, The Netherlands.

NES CSDSI senior research fellow Alexander Shapoval about the workshop:

The Conference was hold by the Maastricht University claimed to be one of the best young universities in the world. The event provided a great opportunity to the economic community to share  thoughts regarding modern problems in industrial organization.  Participants introduced a broad spectrum of research including, but not limited to mechanism design, entrepreneurship, innovations, R&D, trade, digital economy, information disclosure and contract theory. In his fruitful talk, Dirk Bergemann highlighted key ideas of the information design indicating the correspondence between them and basic ideas of the mechanism design. Professor Frank Verboven talked about possible unexpected outcomes of environmental policy. Professor Botond Köszegi described a firm competition on the market in which consumers either browse products superficially or study their products in details. He indicated channels that allow regulations to increase the competition between firms and the market efficiency.
