NES Rector Ruben Enikolopov basing on the recommendations of NES Tenure and Promotions Committee and International Advisory Board approved the promotion of NES Professor, MOEX named professor Anna Obizhaeva: she was appointed to a position of full professor.
Anna Obizhaeva received a PhD in finance from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2007. Her research area includes market microstructure, institutional trading, financial stability and financial crises, transaction costs models, and liquidity.
Anna's articles are published in the leading academic journals including 'Econometrica', 'Review of Economic Studies', 'Journal of Financial Markets'.
Anna Obizhaeva joined NES in September 2014. In July 2019, she received the 'Best Paper in Investments Award' of the FMA Asia/Pacific Conference for her paper Trading in Crowded Markets (joint with coauthors Yajun Wang and NES alumnus Stepan Gorban (MAE'2017).
