New Economic School shares 18th place in the ranking of top international universities whose students enroll in doctoral programs in economics at the top 20 universities in the USA, a research of the Universitat de San Andrés shows. NES is the only university from Russia in the ranking and is listed above Cambridge, sharing its place with Duke University.
The analysis was carried out by the UdeSA Economics Department and is based on the information on all the students pursuing their PhDs in Economics at the top 20 universities in the USA and the universities they came from. In 2020, there were a total of 1,765 PhD students in the top 20 US programs, coming from more than 330 institutions worldwide. The ranking was generated by ordering the institutions that contribute the most to this select group of students.
After the 2019/20 academic year 11 NES graduates were accepted to do their PhD in various international universities, and in the last year the number grew to 15 students.
