Dzhamilya Nigmatulina has accepted NES offer to join the School’s faculty starting September 2022.
Dzhamilya holds a PhD in Economic Geography from the LSE, and an MA in Economics from Duke University.
Her primary professional interest is related to Macroeconomic Development and Urban Economics. She is also conducting research on urbanization in developing countries, as well as firm dynamics and growth in post-Soviet countries. She has published papers on the long running effects of infrastructure and property rights in urban Africa (Journal of Political Economy, 2021), and agglomeration economies in African cities (Journal of Urban Economics, 2021).
