Professor Paul Klemperer gave a lecture about product-mix auctions

On March 23Paul Klemperer (Professor of Economics at Oxford University) gave NES lecture "The Bank of England’s new Auctions" in the Bank of Russia. He described auctions, in which several types of products are allocated at the same time. These auctions were designed and successfully implemented by the Bank of England following Financial Crisis of 2007-2008 and then by other Central Banks to allocate funds backed by different types of collateral.

Professor Klemperer has written multiple influential papers and books and is famous for helping to design the ''biggest auction ever'', British 3G Telecom licences auction, which raised 2.5% of UK GNP in 2000.
