In 2023, Society for Institutional and Organizational Economics (SIOE) held its annual conference from August 24 through August 26, at Goethe University Frankfurt, Germany. During the conference, it was announced that NES Professor Marta Troya Martinez was elected the SIOE Board Member. In 2022, NES Professor Ruben Enikolopov also became the SIOE Board Member.
At this year's conference, he delivered the report “Who Benefits from Tax Evasion of Politically Connected Firms?”. Marta Troya Martinez gave a presentation “Once Upon a Time in America: The Mafia and the Unions”
The Society for Institutional and Organizational Economics (SIOE) was established in 1997. SIOE studies institutions and organizations, primarily from the perspective of economics. SIOE has the goal of integrating this work with strategic management, political science, law, and history.
