Gunes Gokmen was invited to the University of Wisconsin-Madison 3 months as a visiting professor

“I spent there about 3 months as a visiting professor where I interacted with the professors there and also worked with my coauthor Paul Dower. I have greatly benefited from my stay at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

University of Wisconsin-Madison is one of the best universities in the world, and during my stay there I had the chance to communicate with world-class researchers. I have regularly attended seminars and had the chance to observe and learn in this dynamic environment. I had an opportunity to talk one-on-one with the professors there and receive feedback on my own research. I also interacted with the Phd`s  there who are a large and very dynamic group.

I was provided with an office and good working environment. I was in the office everyday and felt welcome by the faculty and the administration from day one.

Importantly, I also had the chance to work with my coauthor Paul Dower who is a faculty member at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. From our meetings we were able to make progress on our project.

All in all, spending time at the University of Wisconsin-Madison was an amazing experience from which I learned and benefited a lot. In terms of output, I was able to complete two research papers by the end of my stay there.”
