45th scientific conference took place at NES


NES is organizing international scientific conferences twice a year - in spring and autumn. The events are aimed at attracting a broad audience to economic discussion.

This year, 45th scientific conference took place on November 7-8, 2019 and gathered 20 professors from NES and other Russian and foreign universities. They presented reports on the topics of regional development, microeconomic theory, macroeconomics, labor market, international economy as well as finance and econometrics. 

Among the speakers were professors at NES Stanislav Anatolyev, Athanasiou Efthymios, Hosny Zoabi, Sergey Izmalkov, Sergey Kovbasyuk, Douglas Campbell, Anna Obizhaeva, Pavle Radicevic, Andrey Savochkin, Konstantin Styrin, Valery Charnovoky, Oleg Shibanov, Carsten Sprenger, Ozgur Evren, and Evgeny Yakovlev. Professor at RANEPA Tatyana Mikhailova and professors at Higher School of Economics in Saint Petersburg Sergey Kokovin, Mikhail Panov and Philipp Ushev also presented their research.

The key report was made by Zvika Neeman, professor at Tel Aviv University, and was dedicated to the topic of "How Bayesian Persuasion Can Help Reduce Illegal Parking and Other Socially Undesirable Behavior" (joint with Penelopa Hernandes, professor at the University of Valencia). Professor Neeman spoke on how to practice legal methods in order to better restrain undesirable behavior such as exceeding the speed limit, tax evasion, and vandalism.
